JAN 2015: Shanghai leadership training

Rob Bowden and Rosie Wilson of Lifeworlds Learning will be working with Chinese partners in March 2015 to develop whole school leadership around values, global learning and the use of P4C (Philosophy for Children). Their work will build on earlier visits by Rob Bowden and by Rob Unwin and Helen Griffin from DECSY. It marks the continued dialogue behind the East meets West initiative and importance of professional learning around the key issues covered by the book and project.

Feb 2015: Conference announced

Several of the partners behind the publication, 'Developing Global Schools in China: East meets West - learning together' have come together under the leadership of DECSY to hold a conference exploring the themes of the publication.

The event will take place on 19th June 2015 in Sheffield and details can be found here.

New Values briefing paper

Rob Bowden, the author of a leadership perspective in the Developing Global Schools publication has been asked by the Global Learning Programme in England (GLP-E) to collate a breifing paper exploring the recent Dept for Education mandate for schools to actively promote fundamental British Values.

This recent addition to DfE policy facing schools has cause mixed reaction and raised many issues for those concerned with ensuring young people are equipped with a more global outlook of life in the 21st century.

We will post a link to the paper in due course.
